Apple today released iOS 16.0.3, a minor bug fix update that comes a few weeks after the release of the iOS 16 operating system. The iOS 16.0.3 update follows iOS 16.0.2. The day the iPhone 14 models were released.
The iOS 16.0.3 update can be downloaded over-the-air to eligible iPhones by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
According to Apple’s release notes, the iOS 16.0.3 update fixes a number of bugs that iPhone users have experienced over the past few weeks.
This update includes bug fixes and important security updates for your iPhone, including:
– Notifications for incoming calls and apps may be delayed or not delivered on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
– Microphone volume may be low during CarPlay phone calls on iPhone 14 models
– Camera may start slow or switch modes on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
– Mail crashes on startup after receiving an invalid email
A CarPlay bug caused iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users to have low volume when trying to make hands-free phone calls in the car. The problem caused the caller to sound quiet or distant during conversation, making it difficult to hear them.
In some cases, due to an issue with the camera, some users have reported delays of up to four to five seconds before the Camera app starts working after launch.
There was also an ongoing screen flickering issue that caused some ‌iPhone‌ owners updated to ‌iOS 16‌ to see dark spots flickering on the screen when the ‌iPhone‌ is at low brightness, but it’s unclear if this update fixed the issue. iOS 16.0.3 will most likely be followed by iOS 16.1, which will be released alongside iPadOS 16.1 in the near future.
