Taiwanese company MediaTek has presented the new Dimensity 1080 processor.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by GSM Arena.
Dimensity 1080 offers improved performance, productivity and camera support over the previous Dimensity 920.
The most important changes are related to the camera capabilities of the chip. The new Dimensity 1080 can process image data from sensors up to 200 MP (previously 108 MP) using the Imagiq ISP image signal processor. The company also announced the possibility of hardware acceleration of HDR video with resolutions up to 4K.
This 5G chipset gets a bit of a boost in performance thanks to two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.6GHz.
The GPU remains the same Mali-G68 and the chipset is still based on the 6nm process.
MediaTek says Dimensity 1080-based devices will begin shipping in Q4 of 2022.
As reported by Ukrinform, in June Taiwanese company MediaTek introduced a new, more powerful flagship processor, Dimensity 9000+.
