TSMC ranked first among semiconductor companies in terms of revenue, beating Samsung Electronics and Intel. This was reported by Business Korea.

He said TSMC’s sales in the third quarter of 2022 were 27.5 trillion won (approximately $19 billion), up 48% from the previous year. At the same time, Samsung Electronics’ revenue for the same period is estimated at 25 trillion won (about $17.5 billion). In comparison, Intel only earned 21 trillion won (about $14.6 billion).

As Business Korea wrote, the undisputed leaders of the industry in monetary terms for a long time were Samsung Electronics and Intel. The engine of the first company has always been memory modules, and Intel – processors for PCs. But in 2022, both tech giants faced problems as sales of smartphones and computers fell.

The publication believes that the market situation will not improve over the next three months and therefore TSMC will continue to be the leader in the fourth quarter and continue to fulfill previously placed orders for the production and supply of various semiconductor components.
