The rumors about Ada Lovelace’s NVIDIA TITAN don’t stop. A few months ago we saw that some sources were assuring that NVIDIA’s next generation graphics cards would have insane power consumption, in fact there was talk of up to 800 watts in the case of the GeForce RTX 4090which in the end not only did not come true, but the real values of that graphics card were much lower (it has 450W TGPsame as GeForce RTX 3090 Ti).

The same source of those crazy rumors has returned to the fray, ensuring that Ada Lovelace’s NVIDIA TITAN has been canceled because it can allegedly melt power sources. They say that, but also explain that it doesn’t draw 800 watts, but that it ranges from 600-700 wattsand what you need two 16-pin connectors.

A single 16-pin power connector can supply 600 watts of power, and the PCIe connector supplies 75 watts, so in total we would have a power of 675 watts. However, the source of this rumor says that the NVIDIA TITAN Ada Lovelace needed two 16-pin connectors, which together with the PCIe slot are able to deliver. 1,275 watts full power. All this for a graphics card that ranges between 600 and 700 wattsall very plausible, note the irony.

But the source of the rumor dares to go much further and says that NVIDIA TITAN Ada Lovelace has been canceled because it even “melts”. What can I say, Radeon RX 295X2 it had a maximum consumption of 500 watts and it used two more 8 pin power connectors and it didn’t give any problems, in fact it almost always stayed in the 70 degree range. Now a much more advanced graphics card with a TGP between 600 and 700 watts proves to be so problematic that it melts.

When you see the GeForce RTX 4090 analysis I prepared for you and find out its consumption values and its temperatures, you will understand much better why this rumor does not make sense. The truth is, I don’t understand why it came about disinformation campaign So much about the GeForce RTX 40, its consumption and its temperatures, but in the end it’s not good for anyone, so I want to demystify all the rumor mill that has accumulated in recent weeks.

It is clear to me that NVIDIA could perfectly run Ada Lovelace’s 600 watt TGP TITAN, limit it to a 16-pin PCIe Gen5 connector and fine-tune the cooling system that the GeForce RTX 4090 is attached to to keep operating temperatures under control. Any good quality power supply with at least 1000 watts of power would be able to drive the mentioned graphics without any problems, as long as the rest of the PC components do not cause the total consumption to exceed that 1000 watts.

Interestingly, the source of this rumor itself has gathered information from GeForce RTX 4090-related leaks, which say that “offers a good ratio of power per watt to amps,” this means that Ada Lovelace is a more efficient architecture than previous generations. That is, a nonsense rumor in which the source contradicts itselfand yet it runs like wildfire.
