In the last hours, some harsh criticisms of the founder of Telegram towards WhatsApp were known. The businessman filed charges against the Meta platform via a post on the messaging service and criticized its security measures. According to acid analysis, the failures of the application on this subject are not the product of a mistake, but the system’s own design.

Over the last few years, WhatsApp has grown tremendously and has an increasingly large user base. So much so that it is currently considered the world’s leading messaging service.

Despite its prominent presence in the industry, it has competitors that logically hold a large position in the market. The best-known example is the case of Telegram, which, although still lagging behind in popularity, already has a substantial user base. In this context, the battle for victory between the two is getting stronger and the supporter of this platform has decided to expose one of his opponent’s weakest points: security.

What did the founder of Telegram say about WhatsApp?

A few weeks ago, WhatsApp announced that it has fixed a vulnerability that could infect a mobile device via a video or video call. To prevent this malware from entering the mobile phone, it is recommended to install the latest version of the application for which this problem has been resolved.

Anyway, over the years the app has had some similar drawbacks, and Telegram’s leader has pointed out that.

Russian businessman Pavel Durov gave a tough message against the Meta platform. In the first place, it launched that “hackers can have full access to information on the mobile phones of WhatsApp users”. Then he remembered the aforementioned vulnerability, in which the virus can only infiltrate through a video file or video call.

Likewise, it questioned the official version that users are protected by updating the app. “Exactly one WhatsApp security issue like this was discovered in 2018, another in 2019, in 2020. And yes, another one in 2017. In 2016, WhatsApp didn’t even have encryption”, condemning part of the harsh broadcast .

Regarding the analysis of these vulnerabilities, Durov doubted that they were possibilities. Based on your description, these errors are part of the system design. “They’re placed in the back doors. “If a backdoor is found and needs to be removed, another will be added,” he said.

On the other hand, he stated that no user is immune from security vulnerabilities, even if he is “the richest person in the world”. “So I deleted WhatsApp from my device years ago. Installing it creates a door for them to get into your phone.”

Pointing to these vulnerabilities, he emphasized that he is not seeking publicity because the service does not need the service due to its popularity.

“You can use any messaging app you want, but stay away from WhatsApp,” Durov added.
