South Korean Hyundai Motor Group has announced that it will invest 18 trillion won (US$ 13 billion) to implement advanced software on all its vehicles and provide regular software update services to its customers.

As reported by Ukrinform, Yonhap reported it.

The automaker has decided to make a significant investment in software to launch most of its new cars worldwide as “software defined vehicle (SDV)” from 2025.

Hyundai Motor Group aims to regularly update the features and functionality of all vehicles sold worldwide from 2025 to become the mobility solutions provider of the future.

“Currently, after purchasing a car, customers need to visit service centers to update their car’s software. However, wireless upgrade services will be available for SDV,” said a Hyundai spokesperson.

Hyundai will spend some of the planned investment developing autonomous driving technology, improving communications services and building a large data center.

As reported by Ukrinform, the South Korean company Hyundai and the Italian automaker IVECO Group NV presented a car on the water.
