In its 20th year in Turkey, Huawei continues its activities to bring young talents into the IT sector. Huawei Turkey has taken over the organization of the international cloud application development competition, the Huawei Cloud Developer Competition, which was held for the first time outside of China. The award ceremony of the competition with a total prize of $14,000 was held at the HDC.Cloud Days event in Istanbul on October 7th.

To contribute to the computer science ecosystem in Turkey, Huawei supports the training of talented software and application developers and stimulates new talents with competitions in various categories. “Huawei Cloud Developer Competition”, one of the competitions the company organizes for this, brought together the talents who develop software and applications in the field of cloud computing.

The competition, the application process of which began in July, was held for the first time outside of China, in our country, in the organization of Huawei Turkey. 150 software developers have entered the “Huawei Cloud Developer Competition” organization, which encourages the use of Huawei CLOUD services, which are expected to be available in Turkey by the end of this year, along with the innovative technologies developed by Huawei. As a result of the pre-selection, 15 participants continued their journey and 6 projects qualified for the final.

From the software developers participating in the competition; Bronix “Cooperor App”, A2 Technology “Cloud AI Guard Eye”, DDTECH “Identity Verification”, Tiersuite “Smart Home For Pet”, Berke Sönmez “Event Notifier Bot” and Ramazan Bülbül “EPET” qualified for the final. While the jury presentations of the 6 finalist projects were held at the Huawei Turkey office, the finalists won a total of $14,000 at the end of the competition.

Huawei CLOUD services introduced at HDC.Cloud Days

“HDC.Cloud Days”, one of Huawei’s cloud computing-focused events in Turkey, took place on October 7 in Istanbul.

Machao: “We plan to train 10 thousand application developers for the Turkish Cloud ecosystem in five years”

Frank Machao, who emphasizes the importance of training qualified application developers in developing the local cloud ecosystem; “In the next five years; With the Huawei CLOUD development program, the SPARK program, application development competitions, software and application development forums and innovation projects to be carried out together with universities, we plan to train 10 thousand public cloud developers and 1,000 certified engineers for the Turkish cloud computing industry.”

A new beginning for cloud services in Turkey

“Huawei has been active in the Turkish market for 20 years. For Huawei, the year 2022 is also the official launch period of Huawei CLOUD services in Turkey,” said Machao, continuing his words as follows; “Early this year, we opened the first account registrations for our customers in Turkey. In September, we launched the Turkish language portal. In January 2023, we will have the opportunity to open up the system to our customers in Turkey via the Istanbul server.”
