The Green Rapido MetaDesign Training Program was held with great interest from professionals and students from the design discipline. Want to become a Meta Architect / Designer? The program that stands out with its slogan; Ekoyapı Magazine was held on October 5, 2022 at The Circle, Beyoğlu in collaboration with Business World Global and Atlas Space.
MetaDesign Training Program, the latest event of Yeşil Rapido, which has been organizing conferences and training programs for 10 years to contribute to the development of the construction industry and sector professionals, was held with the intense interest of professionals and students of the design discipline department. Want to become a Meta Architect / Designer? The program that stands out with its slogan; Ekoyapı Magazine was held on October 5, 2022 at The Circle, Beyoğlu in collaboration with Business World Global and Atlas Space.
BMS Design Center‘s education partner, permolite paintArchitect Selçuk Avcı, one of the founders of The Circle, delivered the opening speech of MetaDesign Training, of which . Education Atlas Space founder; architect, technology entrepreneur-investor Ahmet Burçin Gürbüz and his team.
With new approaches at the intersection of technology and design, new areas of business and expertise are emerging, and architects and designers are at the center of these developments. The ability to perceive and create multidimensional aspects of the human scale and man’s relationship to space, especially beginning with basic design education, plays an important role in shaping the present and future of Metaverse.
Burçin Gürbüz, in the MetaDesign training, which is designed with content for the participants who want to imagine, understand and shape human behavior and needs beyond the physical, in the virtual spaces of Metaverse; He shared his own story and what processes and experiences he has gone through so far. In addition, Gürbüz, entrepreneurship through the eyes of an architect and designer, parts of Metaverse; He explained new generation technologies and concepts such as Web3, blockchain and NFT.
Atlas Space team guided Burçin Gürbüz in MetaDesign training from technical point of view. Architect, senior designer and 3D artist Hakan Küçükal, He discussed 3D modeling techniques from a designer’s point of view for metaverse universes where the meaning of the concept of space has changed and boundaries and gravity have disappeared. Küçükal, who makes applications on Blender, also mentioned several technical roadmaps and tricks to consider in the content he explained as an introduction to modeling specifically for game engines.
Çiğdem Düzeş, one of the founders of Atlas Space and head of the design team; From modeling to game engines, he explained the end-to-end process and different ways to follow. How can we create optimized metaverse universes that can work across platforms such as the web, VR and mobile? What should we pay attention to? How can we integrate the human dimension and our avatars into the universes we design? shared the answers to their questions.
Architect, Sr. Designer and 3D Artist Hilal Beyza Kara, He discussed the scope and techniques of the Unreal Engine game engine. How can we create real-time photorealistic metaverse universes in black? What should we pay attention to? While answering his questions, he explained how this can be possible in a short time with the visual coding method, and how it can open new doors for designers, for designers who didn’t write code before using the Unreal Engine game engine and no mastery of software languages.
Industrial Designer Neslihan Işık, CEO of BMS Design Center, Education Partner, pointed out that the references of the creation process in Metaverse are taken from the real world, and talked about the process of our senses by which we perceive the real world. He drew attention to the point where Metaverse is merging with AR by following neuroscience research that examines our senses and the processing method in the brain. ‘Metaverse is a virtual world where alternative scenarios are created, and the need for optimal comfort and ergonomics during the time we spend in this virtual world draws attention to the ergonomics of the seat and the vehicles used. Herman Miller continues to produce armchairs that place importance on ergonomics every day. My advice to the young people is that when designing the virtual world of the future, they should also focus on the needs that this world creates in the real world.” He said.
Selçuk Avcı made the following statement at the end of the training event; “Metaverse, NFT, Blockchain, concepts will now be as widespread in our language as internet, email and website. The concept of the metaverse is not going to go away and we all have to find a way to come to terms with it. In fact, the process is no different from the birth of Web 1.0 in the 1990s. The record participation in the MetaDesign training also proves this situation. The Circle has received such a large group for the first time, I can say that we have broken a record. Today, a new generation of architects, planners and designers in our hall worried not to be left behind, and the hall was completely packed. The fact that there are people who come from outside the city to follow this training shows how curious the subject is.
In addition to the participants with a professional group, I noticed that especially young students wondered where architecture was going. The one-day event was one of the most interesting events of this year for us and I don’t think it will be the last. I’m not so sure about NFTs, but Blockchain and Metaverse will be a concept in our lives and none of us should be left behind.
130 people have now obtained the MetaDesign certificate. I hope that those who are fully involved in this intensive full-day program and are entitled to a certificate, will be able to integrate what they have learned into their personal and professional lives.”
