Valve has had a Steam Mobile app for many years that offers various features for the digital gaming platform. Not as well known as the desktop and little used, it was quite outdated and the company started to renovate it. After launching in beta last summer, it is now available to all users for iOS and Android operating systems.

Valve says it has completely restored Steam Mobile sa more modern interface, redesigned design and new functions. So in addition to browsing the store, getting Steam Guard codes and confirming trades, the notifications/customizable tabs have been improved and a new remote download library view has been added.

In addition to the visual and handling part, the most interesting thing brings new features to improve account security, including a new login on the web and in the Steam client. And that’s exactly what the new mobile app makes possible login using a QR codea new way to login to Steam that does not require entering a username and password.

The process uses credentials two-factor authentication stored in the mobile app and securely identify your Steam account using your smartphone. The app displays a confirmation page with details about the login attempt, including a map and the approximate geographic location of the device you’re logging into. You can use this information to verify that the login attempt was made by you and to approve or reject it from the application.

The new Steam Mobile is available on Google Play Y Apple App Storeand also as apk direct installation. Valve brings short-term news, such as the inclusion of QR login to the Steam Deck; new notification types and the addition of a list of authorized devices to the Steam browser and client. There will also be improvements to Valve’s other two mobile apps, Steam Chat and Steam Link.
