Komtera Technology Sales Director Gürsel Tursun lists 5 skills IT specialists must have to help businesses succeed in the face of cyber-attacks, especially for October, Cyber Security Awareness Month.
IT professionals are people who install, maintain and repair technological devices and digital networks in companies. These people play a vital role for both SMBs and large companies and must be equipped to diagnose and solve network problems. The number of cyber attacks on companies is increasing day by day. Underlining that companies should take precautions against these increasing attacks and have qualified IT experts, Komtera Technology Sales Director Gürsel Tursun lists 5 qualities IT specialists should have for Cyber Security Awareness Month.
1. They need to understand the coding processes. IT professionals are expected to master the coding processes so that they can do their job efficiently. Even if IT professionals don’t write a lot of code, it’s always helpful to be familiar with basic languages like HTML and C++.
2. Must have experience with methodology. Recruiting processes should look for evidence that IT professionals being hired are familiar with or can adapt to the way your business works. So much so that if your IT function is working on DevOps, you need someone who can keep up with the pace of development and a sprint style.
3. Must be able to think analytically and solve problems. Analytical thinking skills are a must when diagnosing and solving systems-based computer science problems. So much so that analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are also vital when writing or debugging code.
4. They must be able to keep up with the times and new ways of working. Technologies on the horizon such as augmented reality, machine learning, cloud technology and more are becoming increasingly attractive to businesses. Today it is very important for IT employees to keep up with these developments. In this context, IT professionals must adapt to new ways of working and quickly acquire new skills.
5. Must have in-depth knowledge of cyber security. In the face of increasing cyber-attacks, IT professionals are expected to have a deep understanding of the latest cybersecurity vulnerabilities, software and best practices. IT professionals need to understand cybersecurity vulnerabilities and develop solutions that can combat it.
