ABB, the Swedish-Swiss company specializing in electrical and power engineering, has introduced its smallest industrial robot, which opens up new opportunities for faster, more flexible and high-quality production of wearable “smart” devices.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Design World.
Thanks to its compact size, the IRB 1010 robot offers electronics manufacturers the opportunity to increase the production of devices such as smart watches, headphones, sensors and health monitors through automation.
It is stated that the device can withstand a load of up to 1.5 kg, has the highest load capacity in its class and can lift up to three times more weight than similar robots.
It consumes 20% less energy, allowing manufacturers to reduce electricity costs and increase energy efficiency.
The wearable smart devices market is expanding rapidly, and forecasts project double-digit growth between 2022 and 2028. Rui Liang, Managing Director of ABB Robotics Electronics, said that to meet this growth, companies need compact robotic solutions suitable for tight production spaces in electronics production lines and capable of precision handling small components used in wearable devices.
As reported by Ukrinform, experts from the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology have presented a new method for manufacturing electronic circuits and sensors for their use in various types of robotics.
