The smartphones of the Google Pixel 7 series became the first gadgets in the market of Android devices to support 64-bit applications only. This is reported by the XDA Developers portal citing insider Mishaal Rahman.
Thus, Pixel 7 owners will not be able to run older 32-bit applications, including Jetpack Joyride, Flappy Bird, and other apps that haven’t been updated for a long time. The Tensor G2 chipset, which is also installed in Pixel 7 smartphones, is capable of executing 32-bit instructions, but Google has not implemented their support.
XDA Developers states that the benefits of using only 64-bit applications will not go unnoticed by users, as these improvements are in increased security and system performance. So Pixel 7 users who don’t need old apps don’t have to worry.
