The State Private Communications and Information Protection Service once again reminded citizens of the simple rules of internet security.
As reported by Ukrinform, the State Intelligence Service announced this on Facebook.
The service noted that the easiest way to spread malware or redirect a user to a malicious site is a message with attached files and links. Criminals can send such messages to e-mail, private messages and messengers on social networks, SMS, chats, etc. can send.
A post with a link to the scam site can even be posted to a local newsgroup or newsgroup. In such cases, speculation is often used about so-called state social payments for internally displaced persons and Ukrainians who suffered during the war.
Therefore, the State Special Communications Service reminded that information should be trusted only from officially verified sources: verified pages of state officials in social networks (with a blue tick); Websites of government officials whose addresses must end in “gov.ua”.
It is necessary to carefully check the recipient and the content of the messages. Do not follow links or download files from strangers. The information received in the message should be checked in other sources and on the official pages of government agencies. Do not enter any personal data if you are not sure that the site is secure.
“Also, note that https at the beginning of the site address indicates a secure connection, http – indicates not secure (your data and even passwords can be stolen),” the State Intelligence Service said.
There, they recommend downloading only licensed software and apps from official developer sites.
