It looks like Intel won’t be alone when it comes to recycling old architectures for next-gen processors, as we recently learned that etc plans to make a similar move with his Ryzen 7000 aimed at laptops and small devices that will be based on the architectures Raphael (Zen 4), Barcelo (Zen 3) and Mendocino (Zen 2).

The news began to spread after Ryzen 5 7530U has been shown via the SiSoftware website along with ASRock’s new line of industrial mini-PCs that will reportedly get an APU upgrade using the AMD Ryzen 7000 series. The said processor model will use Zen 3 or Zen 3+ as an architecture, confirming that Ryzen 7000 processors aimed at laptops and small devices will use a number of different architectures.

Another model of the future generation AMD APU is Ryzen 5 7630Uwith 6 cores, 12 threads and a predicted base clock of 2.0 GHz. 512 KB per core level 2 (L2) cache and 16 MB total level 3 (L3) cache clearly show that in the background this is a processor that uses Zen 3 or Zen 3+.

The official image also mentions a Rembrandt Refresh (i.e. reusing the Ryzen 6000 generation APU architecture), but so far no leaks have been seen on that alleged front. So far there is evidence of existence Four low-power Ryzen 7000 generation APU models (between 15 and 28 watts) that will use different architectures for CPU and graphicsso here we are again with Vega technology, which according to many is asking for retirement.

Interestingly, and if you count the desktop and laptop models, the Ryzen 7000 will be the first generation of the mentioned processor line to use three different architectures. This smacks of a ploy on AMD’s part to get rid of accumulated material, which can also cause quite a bit of confusion among less knowledgeable consumers.
