Engineers from Stanford University (USA) have developed exoskeleton shoes that increase walking speed by 9%.
This Metro was reported by Ukrinform reports.
As mentioned, engineers have used machine learning technology to develop exoskeleton boots that can be customized to the user’s needs.
Tests proved that using the device resulted in a 9% increase in walking speed and 17% less energy use compared to walking in normal shoes.
According to scientists, this is equivalent to “removing a 13.6kg backpack from your shoulders”.
“We’ve been working on this for nearly 20 years… This is the largest improvement in walking speed and energy savings of any exoskeleton available today,” said Steve Collins, Professor at the Stanford Biomechatronics Laboratory.
As Ukrinform reports, scientists from the University of Warwick (UK) have developed a device that can detect skin cancer that the human eye cannot see.
