There seems to be a consensus regarding future RTX 40 family GPUs one of the most anticipated is the GeForce RTX 4050, i.e. the one that would mark the entry into this new generation. NVIDIA hasn’t said anything about it, but more and more voices are suggesting that it will be announced and hit the market sometime in the middle of next year. Of course, if the cancellation (we understand it’s temporary and pending a name change) of the RTX 4080 12GB we learned about a few hours ago won’t affect the future release calendar, that remains to be seen.
One of the main arguments put forward by those who say it will be a long time before I see the lower end (with lots and lots of quotes) RTX 40 is the voluminous inventory that both manufacturers and distributors of the previous generation RTX 30 would have todayand that it must find an outlet in the market before its next-generation counterparts get to it, because otherwise its value could be substantially reduced, which would hardly fit into the accounts of all parties involved (except those users, who are undoubtedly the ones who would win).
So, unless there are leaks in this regard, it will still be a while before we know about the “smallest” RTX 40. And yet, and although it was not seen in the Enermax list, another manufacturer told us that it has confirmed its existence, and this is already on it somehow works for him. And it is as we can read in WccfTech, manufacturer GALAX showed the box of its GeForce RTX 4050 at the presentation event and launching its first RTX 40 graphics.
The epicenter of the event was the custom edition GeForce RTX 4090 SG, albeit for the manufacturer’s event carried more material related to this new generation. Interestingly, a box of the future RTX 4050 snuck in between it (we may never know whether by accident or on purpose), which was captured by at least one photo that made it to the public.
Unfortunately, the angle of the image and the resolution of the image prevent us from extracting data from it, as we can imagine that it will feature some text related to its specification, as well as an image that will let us know its design. However, and since this image was leaked, it is possible that more photos were taken and that these could also have been leaked in order to get closer to a card that, given the prices of the RTX 40, but also its impressive technological leap, make it the one that for many it will be the gateway to this new generation… if the price is right of course.
