Although Apple expects the announcement of the next generation of ARM chips of the M2 series in the spring, the company has not yet done so.
However, the company began testing many devices based on various modifications of the new processor. To be precise, there are nine Mac and four SoC variants.
Apple is reportedly testing new developments using third-party apps from the App Store.
One of the computers tested was the new MacBook Air with the M2 chip. It took 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. By comparison, the previous generation had only 8 GPU cores in the top configuration.
Insiders will recall that the MacBook Air 2022 attributed an updated multi-colored design, the “explosion” appearance, as in the MacBook Pro 14 “and 16”, as well as the return of the MagSafe port.
Announcement of new products is expected in the fall of this year.
