In a publication that ended up being deleted, but whose information is taken for granted by all media specialized in the products and services of the Chinese company, closing Xiaomi Cloud before the end of 2023 for reasons not yet clear, although all indications are that the proposal did not have the expected success.
Be that as it may, Xiaomi’s announcement, which was deleted shortly after publication, perhaps because it did not contain exact dates and conditions, but rather because it looked more like a proposal that came to light ahead of time and appeared on the same X there, where the data should be listed.
As it was saved, the closure of Xiaomi Cloud would be partial, which would affect the synchronization of photos from the gallery, but also for subscription, which leaves many doubts in the air, as there are several Xiaomi applications that depend on the service for remote data storage and synchronization. For example, contacts, messages, notes…

A Twitter user posted the news Kacper Skrzypek, although the announcement can still be seen via a copy on archive.org, and one can really appreciate its draft status and the rush to publish it. But that does not detract from the authenticity of the information, which the company does not deny in the media after a few days.
There are several inconsistencies in the statement, although the most notable are the ones mentioned: while “the functions that will be deprecated are gallery synchronization and Xiaomi Cloud membership”, the title of the publication about abandoning the synchronization of gallery photos and migration to Google Photosthe service that the company has chosen as a replacement for the service it is disposing of.
All in all, many of the end-of-function dates point to 2022, which is only two and a half months away, so they shouldn’t delay too long in re-releasing this information with all the missing data.
