Sony introduced a compact camera for vloggers

Today, October 14, Sony officially announced a rather unusual device – the ZV-1F camera, created specifically for vloggers and various content creators for social networks. It’s worth noting that the company already has a camera called the ZV-1, but the new one with the letter “F” in the name has a wider feature set that comes at a lower price. At the same time, the new features “on paper” are quite similar to the original camera. Probably, the Japanese company decided to highlight bloggers, but at the same time to combine production to reduce costs.

For example, the ZV-1F camera is based on a CMOS sensor called the Exmor RS – it has a resolution of 20.1 MP, which should be enough for video. It was this sensor that was installed on the ZV-1, so the quality of the content should be approximately the same. At the same time, the ZV-1F camera uses a fixed lens with a focal length of 20 mm and an aperture. f/2.0 – so the camera provides the creator with a fairly wide angle of view. This is fine if the author shoots himself directly from the hand or from a special montage – due to the wide viewing angle, there will be enough detail of the background in addition to the face of the person in the frame.

The company even stated that the ZV-1F camera is suitable for taking high-quality photos in daylight conditions, but most likely, no one will do it. In addition, the new Sony camera received a built-in rotary touchscreen with a diagonal of 3 inches so that the author of the content can compose a composition, control the focus and see himself in the shooting process. True, there are questions about video quality – the camera can shoot video in 4K resolution at only 30 frames per second, while even mid-range smartphones shoot in 4K at 60 FPS. And given the fact that this is a dedicated camera for bloggers, this approach to content seems extremely unpredictable.

Among the interesting features of the product, it is worth highlighting the possibility of transferring the recorded content directly to a smartphone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which will simplify the installation process. You can also live stream directly from the camera, record vertical videos for relevant social networks, and use various advanced shooting modes. Even in the design of the camera, a directional microphone with a windshield is provided, but if you wish, you can also connect an external microphone with a 3.5 mm connector.

The Sony ZV-1F costs $500, and sales should begin before the end of this month.
