It is unknown what exactly causes the screen to freeze when scrolling content vertically. However, the error may lie in the incorrect calibration of the touch layer of the screen, which will most likely be fixed with a software update.
According to 9To5Google, the unstable operation of the interface is most commonly found in Reddit, YouTube, Twitter, and other apps. There is at least one known case of problems with Android system apps.
9To5Google also reminded that in early 2022, some Pixel 6 users complained of a similar issue. At that time, the error was caused by one of Google’s firmware updates.
