Nvidia company has officially announced the withdrawal of the GeForce RTX 4080 with 12 GB of memory, the third version of the GeForce RTX 40 graphics card series.

Nvidia company has officially announced the withdrawal of the GeForce RTX 4080 with 12 GB of memory, the third version of the GeForce RTX 40 graphics card series. This is reported by Videocardz.

It was noted that the decision was made due to the name change. “GeForce RTX 4080 is a great graphics card, but the name is wrong”, – noted developer representative. The company believed that having two GeForce RTX 4080s on sale with a small time difference would confuse buyers.

“We hit the cancel button on the 12GB version of the 4080”, the company added. At the same time, Nvidia assured that the GeForce RTX 4080 with 16 GB of memory will be released on the expected date on November 16.

According to journalists, the GeForce RTX 4080 with 12 GB of memory will be released, but a little later and under a different name. For example, like the GeForce RTX 4070 or the RTX 4070 Ti. According to sources, this model was planned to be named with such a numerical designation.
