Microsoft recently updated Windows 11 with its first major update, and the successor to Windows 12 is already on the horizon. Others go further and consider Windows 23 the “perfect” operating system.

As always when we talk about them Proof of concept It should be emphasized that the design exercise has nothing to do with actual computer development. Transforming drawings into “1s and 0s” while maintaining hardware and software compatibility of an ecosystem as gigantic as Windows is very complicated.

That said, there are different ones designers who design Microsoft ideas. Surely more than one Redmond employee already has them in mind, but the difficulty lies in what has been said: to translate it into real development.

Windows 23: everything for customization

The general Settings tool has also been replaced and looks really good. Also updated notification center as well as Quick Settings, while the new Mini Widgets that can be accessed from the taskbar are a great touch and we appreciate the ability to drag them around the desktop.

A dark mode has also been added and even new themes, such as one based on the main one from Windows XP, for those who long for the old days. Themes are dynamic as expected from a modern system.

This concept brings Cortana back. The assistant has already shown its uselessness on the desktop, and Microsoft itself removed it from Windows 11, but its implementation is so successful, in the middle of a high-level user interface, that we will have to allow this creative license.
