Data published by Speedtest.net this Monday (17) showed that Claro is the phone operator in Brazil with the highest average download speed in the third quarter of this year.. The company outperformed competitors such as Vivo and Tim, as well as Oi, which began migrating to other carriers.
Between July and September of this year, Claro was the only company that managed to keep the average speed above 30 Mbps.. Speedtest data shows the company ended the quarter with an average of 37.17 megabytes per second.
This number is significantly higher than the main competitors in Brazil such as Vivo and Tim. The two worked in the 20Mbps range, but were far from outperforming the Claro. In the most recent quarter, Vivo averaged 28.25Mbps and Tim averaged 25.98Mbps.
The data also showed faster devices
Claro has also managed to stand out when it comes to internet latency. It corresponds to the time between the output of a data packet from your machine and the beginning of the response on the target server. Thus, the lower the number, the faster and better the service offered by the operators.
In this Speedtest review, the Claro managed to finish with 45ms. Once again, the company dominated this category, being the only one to reach the 40 mark. This is because both Vivo and Tim got higher numbers, 50 and 56 respectively.

“Measuring the performance stability of each carrier, we found that Claro had the highest stability in Brazil in the third quarter of 2022, with 85.9% of the results showing a minimum download speed of at least 5Mbps and an upload speed of 1Mbps. says the Speedtest survey.
However, the curiosity revealed by the survey lies in the disclosure of details about the devices with the best connection speed. Of the five fastest in the third quarter, four are Apple devices. The leader was the iPhone 13 Pro with an average download speed of 156.19 Mbps..
It was followed by the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The difference between the two was negligible, with one ending at 137.72 and the other at 137.34 respectively. The only device on the list that broke Apple’s hegemony was the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The average speed was 128.61 Mbps.
