Hallelujah! The moment you’ve been waiting for (years really) finally came true. Starting today, Windows 11’s file explorer meets the historical demand of its users and adopts a feature that has been present for decades in other operating systems, as well as in other types of applications. I’ll admit that I’m giddy with emotion and that I just opened Apple Music We are the Champions on a loop while I crack open a beer (a soft drink I’m working on) and a can of olives stuffed with anchovies to enjoy this anniversary as it deserves.
Okay, okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit (plus I drink milk tea, so beer and olives don’t quite add up), but we’re definitely talking about consuming a multi-month wait if we start counting since Microsoft confirmed it was already in him, and that adds up to years if we start counting from when users started asking for it. it is probable, the most historic lawsuit against Microsoft by Windows 11 usersbut also many of his predecessors.
Although its arrival was basically planned by the hand of Windows 11 22H2, as you will remember, it eventually left the list and was called to Moments 1 or Moments 2 without a specific date. This change is part of the improvements that Microsoft wants to bring to the process of updating the operating system, which was fully confirmed when we found that although they were not activated by default, Windows 11 22H2 already had cardsand you can activate them very easily.
Now, it’s not the same to activate them on your own, and with the risks that may entail, than to know that their deployment has gained nihil exist engineering team and therefore his time has come. And so it is, as officially confirmed on the Windows blog, Windows 11 Explorer Tabs is now available with the latest update operating system. However, as with Windows updates, its deployment will be progressive.

Moreover, this is not the only novelty that comes from the hands of this update, there are others that are almost as remarkable as browser tabs. So much so that in a way we can almost consider this Moments 1 as the second part of Windows 11 22H2. They are the following:
- Amazon App Store: I don’t think it’s necessary to explain how this function was expected, right? Well, after a time exclusively present in the United States, it is finally making the leap to other geographies, Spain among them. This way, we will finally be able to install Android apps on Windows directly from the Microsoft Store, instead of having to download them from third-party repositories and do manual installations. This is the list of countries where this update is hitting, although unfortunately it won’t land in any Latin America yet.
- Taskbar overflow and easy access to Task Manager: We already told you about this improvement a few months ago, when it was seen in the systems of some insiders and today it reaches the production version of Windows 11. On the one hand, when the taskbar fails to display the icons of all the applications open at that moment, those that overflow, will appear grouped in a new space. And on the other hand, it will also provide more direct access to the task manager, preventing us from having to resort to calling it up with the usual Control + Alt + Delete.
- Suggested actions: Another feature that we also knew was on the way is this, that Windows 11 analyzes the content we see and if it identifies an element such as a phone number or a date, it suggests actions related to the need to call or put on the calendar.
- Share with multiple devices: Windows 11 expands the list of devices with which you can share files directly. This feature is available on Desktop, File Explorer, Photos, Snipping Tool (Screenshots), Xbox and other apps.
- New photo app: although there’s a catch in this case, which is that despite the dependency on this update, it will still take a few days to roll out. We will find in it new functions to facilitate the organization of photos, a new function of memories, in the style of those already found in other operating systems and online image storage services, and finally (although this will begin to be deployed in November), the possibility of importing images from the iPhone without you would have to use other apps to do that. Yes, you will need to have the iCloud for Windows software installed.

Microsoft also mentions in the post, the arrival of the ESPN app in the Microsoft Storesomething that will be great news for sports lovers.
So, as I said at the beginning, I would personally call this update Windows 11 22H2 part 2, because it largely adds to what we expected from the first major update to Windows 11. Will this help speed up adoption? We will have to wait a little longer for verification, but it is precisely because of the lack of details that I have a feeling, at least mine Windows 11 has finally earned the right to be considered a complete upgrade from Windows 10.
