In-flight internet connectivity has always been…let’s just say it could be improved. And it looks like SpaceX, with its Starlink satellite internet system, could be close to solving that problem. And personally, it seems to me the most logical thing in the world, moreover, the direction in which the company has been going for some time. And that, with the right hardware, nothing should prevent moving vehicles from connecting to the satellite network.
In this sense, society launched a service focused on caravans and camper vans already in the spring and similar vehicles, and unlike the basic Starlink service, it allows the antenna and receiving equipment to be on the move, rather than in a fixed location. Its price is slightly higher than the home service, with a monthly fee of $135, but with the advantage of mobility, which in my opinion fully justifies the price increase.
On the other hand, introduced Starlink Maritime this summer, a service that, as the name suggests, is mainly aimed at ships, whether they are large cruise ships or yachts, that offer internet connections to their passengers. The service, which already gained a large client last August, contracted its services to Royal Caribbean in August for this purpose.

And now we know, from Yahoo! Finance which Starlink will start offering internet connectivity for aircraft from next year, for which it has created the Starlink Aviation division, with which it intends to provide aircraft with the high-speed, low-latency service it already offers in the other types of connections it finds in its service catalog so far. Of course, it will not be comparable to that shown in the domestic plan, but it will be much higher than what has been available so far in flight. His original design in this sense passes through reaching 350 megabytes per second with low or very low latency.
Its implementation in airplanes will not be economical, that’s for sure. Installation of Starlink Aviation connectivity hardware will cost $150,000to which must be added a monthly fee that will range between $12,500 and $25,000, we can understand this depending on the traffic volume and connection speed. The key, of course, will be to check the price at which the airlines that hire him offer it to their customers. And we talked about fast Internet, but most likely it will not be a cheap connection.
