According to Bloomberg, citing industry sources, Apple plans to add a new feature to branded smart watches. It will allow Apple Watch owners to stay connected in emergency situations, even outside the reach of mobile and wireless networks.

According to available information, future watches of the American brand will acquire the ability to make “emergency” calls using short messages sent via a satellite communication system. Insiders claim that the innovation will be implemented in smartphones of the iPhone 14 series.

In addition to notifying the people listed in the contact list, it is expected that the emergency services will be able to inform about crisis situations – for example, an accident in a car, boat or plane. In this case, more detailed information will be transmitted with details about the need to evacuate people or call rescuers.
