Microsoft announced a number of new features for Microsoft 365 users at its annual Ignite 2022 event, but the most notable among consumers was the new Microsoft 365 app designed to replace the existing Office app. A few days after the announcement, Microsoft finally gave us our first look.
The Microsoft 365 YouTube channel has released a video showing some of the key features of the app. In addition to the new look and icon, the video explains how it can be a hub for all your documents, presentations and files across all your apps, including third-party content. The video is 55 seconds long so not everything is covered. But it highlights a good set of features.

Interestingly, the Office app on the Google Play Store has now been renamed “Office (Microsoft 365)”. It does not currently offer all the new features covered in the video.
At the time of the announcement, Microsoft said Office.com, Office for Mobile and Office for Windows will become Microsoft 365 “in the coming months.” The software giant did not provide details on when it will be available to the general public.
