Konami Announces Silent Hill 2 Remake, Movie, and More Games

Yesterday was the Silent Hill event that Konami announced a few days ago. Fortunately, we can say that he did not disappoint, starting with the fact that Silent Hill 2 remakewhich is considered by most fans to be the best part of the saga.

When it comes to Silent Hill 2 Remake, quite a few aspects of the game are already known. Bloober Team, the Polish company behind The Medium, is first involved in its development. as a graphics engine It will use Unreal Engine 5 and will have PC and PlayStation 5 versions.

In the trailer from Konami, you can see the graphic modification and a very changed James Sunderland in his physical form, almost unrecognizable from the original title. In addition, the game file is already published on Steam with minimum and recommended requirements, and the truth is that these can scare you at times, that the minimum required graphics, at least for now, is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.

Successive crises in recent years have made PC recovery difficult for many. On the other hand, it is not strange to see that the system requirements of the games are somewhat inflated, but do not be mistaken, because everything indicates that the legendary Konami survival horror, still without a release date, will return demanding a lot on the hardware level.

But the Silent Hill 2 remake wasn’t the only thing on show at the event, as Konami also announced a project with the title Silent Hill F which will be set in 1960s Japan; Silent Hill: Townfall, a spin-off developed by No Code Studios and published by Annapurna Interactive; in addition Silent Hill: Ascensionwhich intends to “simmerse participants from around the world in the psychological horror at the heart of Silent Hill in a way like no other“. Here are just the teasers and trailers that don’t show much, other than revealing that Konami has decided to take advantage of the fact that survival horror is all the rage right now, thanks in no small part to a rival saga in the segment: Resident Evil.

And finally we have movie called Return to Silent Hill (at least in the English version), which will be directed by the same person who was in charge of the first adaptation, which was released in cinemas in 2006: Christophe Gans. The 2006 film has the benefit of being a good adaptation, but at the same time, it didn’t fully capture the oppressive setting of the games. We’ll see if this new production fixes that detail, especially for people who have never played Silent Hill.

And so far, all that was given by the event organized by Konami around the resurrection of Silent Hill, of which there were indeed many. For the curious, we’ll leave you with the entire video.
