Capcom continues to let itself be loved and with Resident Evil 4 Remake it showed once again that the Japanese company is the one at the moment that has best assimilated and implemented the necessary keys to produce remakes that can surpass the original titles. In this sense, The Resident Evil 2 remake is the best exampleand I still think it’s the best remake ever, at least to this day.

A few hours ago, the Japanese company showed new videos with real gameplay scenes from Resident Evil 4 Remake, and yes, the game looks spectacular. The RE Engine enabled a huge leap in graphics quality compared to the original version, something completely understandable, since Resident Evil 4 was developed on GameCube hardware, a console whose GPU was roughly at the Radeon 7000 level.

But more importantly, Capcom was able to not only preserve the essence of the original, but improve it to take it to a higher level. This is clearly visible renewed oppressive atmosphere and terror which brings the Resident Evil 4 Remake closer to the “foggy” version of the original, which, as many of our readers know, focused more on psychological horror and never materialized.

we see too new game mechanics, among which the importance of the knife stands out, which allows us to get rid of attacks and avoid instant death from certain attacks, something similar to what we saw in Resident Evil 2 Remake. On the other hand, there was an important change in the dubbing of cattle, which They no longer speak Latin Spanish and have a Spanish accent. It’s normal because Resident Evil 4 Remake should be located just like the original, in a city in the north of Spain and actually the beloved pesetas are used.

The story maintains the basis of the original Resident Evil 4, but Capcom has introduced some modifications that should in principle improve its development and deepen it. The characterization of the characters seems perfect overall and the dubbing looks good.

On a technical level, Resident Evil 4 Remake was developed as a cross-generational game. It will not be exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series XS and PC as we originally believed, but it will also come to PS4. There is an explanation for this, which is that the said console has a huge user base after all (between 110 and 120 million), which represents a huge potential sale that Capcom did not want to ignore. Ultimately, the company wants to make money, and giving up on the PS4 version would mean giving up an important source of revenue.

This is good news for PS4 users.and it is also for PC users who have less powerful computers because it makes Resident Evil 4 Remake requirements same as Resident Evil Village requirements. However, that’s bad news for those of us with powerful PCs and for those who play on PS5 and Xbox Series XSbecause it means that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be burdened by the old generation, as Resident Evil Village did then, a title where the “seams” were clearly visible.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming to PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series XS March 24th. If we buy the PS4 version, we can upgrade to PS5 for free. In conclusion, I leave you a list with the requirements of the PC version. These requirements confirm that the game will use ray tracing.

Minimal requirements

  • Windows 10 64-bit.
  • CPU Ryzen 3 1200 or Core i5-7500 (4 cores).
  • 8GB of RAM.
  • Radeon RX 560 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with 4 GB of graphics memory.
  • DirectX 12.
  • Ray tracing mode: Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 2060.

With this team we can play in resolution 1080p and 60 FPS with “prioritize performance” setting, although Capcom warns that there could be stuttering in scenes with high graphics load.

Recommended requirements

  • Windows 10 64-bit.
  • CPU Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700 (4 cores).
  • 16 GB of RAM.
  • Radeon RX 5700 or GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card with 8 GB of graphics memory.
  • DirectX 12.
  • Ray tracing mode: Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 2070.

This configuration will allow us to play 1080p at 60 FPS with high qualityalthough again they warn of a drop in performance in scenes with intensive graphics load.

There is an important error in the graphics equivalents, because the Radeon RX 5700 XT is much more powerful than the GeForce GTX 1070. The right thing would be Radeon RX Vega 56which is the closest to the listed NVIDIA graphics solution.

It also strikes me that the graphics card level requirements for ray tracing are repeated, although this time with a distinction from the GeForce RTX 2070. Maybe it’s a mistakebut I can’t specify anything at the moment.
