microsoft Last week, it released a series of creator tools in Microsoft 365, Bing, and the Edge web browser to help spark people’s imaginations. Now the Redmond giant has decided to go a step further to create one of these tools, ImageCreator Bing, will be rolled out early in select markets and will arrive in Microsoft Edge in the same markets next month.

As its name suggests, Creator Image allows users to create images, which is in contrast to image searches on Bing and other search engines. The same tool will be available in the Microsoft Edge web browser from the app’s sidebar. On both fronts, albeit in limited areas, users can “create an image to share updates about their life with their friends online and drag it onto their main work page without losing focus on their workflow.”

Microsoft explains that Image Creator it works best when the user enters a description of something with some additional data such as location or art style they’re trying to emulate. In this way, the user’s imagination is limited, not their ability to paint.



For what Image Creator does it uses artificial intelligence technology called DALL E 2, which was developed by OpenAI. As the use of artificial intelligence worries more and more people from various industries, the Redmond giant announced its a commitment to use it responsibly to avoid disproportionate results (such as sexual content or explicit violence) and has partnered with OpenAI to deepen its approach.

In addition to preventing inappropriate results from being delivered, which is done by training an artificial intelligence model, Microsoft is taking various mitigations to take advantage of insights gained from Bing about problematic queries, “and also use block lists and classifiers using Azure Cognitive Services that reduce the risk of offensive messages being broadcast. These and other mitigation efforts will continue to evolve over time to ensure we stay up-to-date on new angles of potential abuse.”



The Redmond-based corporation has “used another technology to address the biases sometimes found in generative imaging technology,” and that bias is one area it’s constantly working to improve. In addition to that, you also want to make sure that the content generated by Image Creator does not harm others, something that can be reported through this form if it does.
