Nothing else, but if there’s one thing Google understands, it’s search, and although it’s reliably applied in virtually all of its products and services, there’s always room for improvement. The Internet giant thus announced that it will introduce innovations in this regard to the company’s mobile applications Gmail and Google ChatMainly, but not only.
According to the Google Workspace blog, the company is working on expanding the search functionality, especially in the Gmail and Google Chat mobile apps, which, unlike their web versions, tend to be more concise in terms of customization for advanced users.
Specifically, the news includes:
search suggestions: As you type in the search box, Google Chat search query suggestions based on your search history will appear. This will help you quickly remember important messages, files and more on your mobile devices.
Gmail labels– You can now search for messages under a specific Gmail label and return results only within that label. You can also use the search chips in the Gmail search box to refine your label search.
Related results– Gmail search queries that return no results will display related results to improve the overall search experience.
The last change, that of related results, apparently affects Gmail in its desktop version (the web app) and is perhaps the most interesting of all, because it is the only one new and also has a feature that is less seen as it is semantic search. The image illustrates well the potential of this feature.
These Google Workspace news were introduced a few days ago in celebration of the Cloud Next 2022 event, and they were not the only ones, so in the coming days and weeks more will be known about these and other Hory applications, products and services.
