The TRML-4D radar of the German company Hensoldt has the ability to effectively track any air target.

The TRML-4D Hensoldt radar is the primary detection tool of the IRIS-T SLM battery. The battery also includes several self-propelled launchers and a fire control station. Developed in 2018, the TRML-4D is a mobile C-band medium-range multi-purpose radar.

German radar is capable of detecting, tracking and classifying various air targets, with particular focus on small, fast and low-flying and/or maneuvering cruise missiles.

The TRML-4D uses the latest AESA (active electronically scanned array) technology based on GaN (gallium nitride) solid state transmitters. AFAR provides digital rendering of a multi-beam pattern.

The system provides simultaneous detection and tracking of up to 1500 different targets in the range of 0.01 to 250 km. The maximum detection height reaches 30 km. Fighters and supersonic missiles can be accompanied up to 150 km and 60 km, respectively.

The radar is equipped with “home-alien” recognition systems, detection and jamming of obstacles.

The TRML-4D is mounted on an 8×8 chassis and can be transported by A400M and S-130 aircraft.

In addition to the TRML-4D multifunctional radar, the company’s portfolio includes the Twinvis passive radar, the Spexer line and radars for maritime and air traffic safety.

Hensoldt provides radar for airspace surveillance to the German Navy’s new frigates and corvettes and the German Air Force. Hensoldt solutions are compatible with the architecture of the NATO air defense system and are not dependent on foreign technologies.
