This was reported by the BBC, Ukrinform reports.
It took an hour and a half to evacuate all the satellites 600km high, as the rocket carrying the British Internet satellites was launched from the Indian island of Sriharikota, but it will take a few more weeks to put them into space. operational 1200 km polar orbit.
The BBC points out that Sunday’s launch brought OneWeb’s satellites in orbit to 462, more than 70% of the total the company needed to achieve worldwide coverage with the first-generation constellation.
The launch of these satellites into orbit was the first for OneWeb company not to be accomplished with the help of a Russian launch vehicle. OneWeb’s cooperation with Roskosmos was halted in March due to Russia’s war against Ukraine and Western sanctions against the Russian Federation.
