Alternative Bank implemented in the field of Accessible Banking,

Ideathon 2022, in which all university students and recent graduates participated with their creative projects, ended with the final stage moderated by Serdar Kuzuloğlu.

Alternatif Bank’s activities under the “Accessible Banking” studies focused on providing a rights-based and accessible banking service for all. “Accessible Banking Ideathon 2022” concluded. The final of Ideathon 2022, which is open to the participation of undergraduate and graduate students from all universities in Turkey, and recent graduates graduating more than 1 year after graduation, took place with an online event broadcast live on YouTube under the moderation of Serdar Kuzuloglu.

Applications were collected online for Ideathon 2022, which aims to capitalize on young people’s innovative ideas to solve the problems facing disabled people in banking. After the pre-selections, the groups that will participate in the ideathon were determined. 14 teams of about 50 students three Language and perspective unit training was delivered during an intensive weekly preparation and implementation process, covering disabilities, definitions of disabilities, recognizing disability groups and establishing effective communication. In the field “Design Thinking” and “Lean Startup” supported ideas and projects were developed.

At the Ideathon, held for the third time this year, executives from Alternatif Bank contributed by guiding the students and sharing their creative solutions that will shape the future of barrier-free banking, with 5 teams of 20 students in the latter. After the evaluation of the jury formed by the members of the Alternatif Bank Accessible Banking Advisory Board and the bank directors, the Greencod team became the winner of Ideathon 2022 with the Bank Meta Game project. In addition to the cash prize, the event’s top three teams received an internship at Alternatif Bank and an interview simulation with the HR department.

We wanted to involve them in the process, believing that our biggest supporters are the young people to expand the scope of these activities. We know that young people’s awareness of social issues and their sensitivity to our future are stronger than any of us. In this context, we like to meet our young people again, to witness their sensitivity to social issues, and to listen to their solution-oriented creative projects with their innovative and energetic perspectives, with the Accessible Banking Ideathon, which we organized for the 3rd time this year. On the other hand, it is also a source of pride for us to receive more registrations for our event every year with an increasing interest, and that our young people follow the digitizing banking world so closely and compete with creative, solid and applicable projects.

As in the past two years, our main goal this year is to quickly evaluate the winning projects within our bank and turn them into a product or service, and support our young friends on this path. Top three teams and their projects in Ideathon

1st prize

Greencod Team – Bank Meta Game Project: The digital banking game platform Bank Meta Game provides digital banking experience in the metaverse world with remote control, voice guidance and subtitling modules. With this experience, it aims to increase financial literacy in all segments of society and teach digital banking while being entertained.

2nd prize

Eternal Team – Alternative Universe Project: The project aims to enable individuals with hearing and orthopedic disabilities to benefit unimpeded from banking services throughout the metaverse universe.

3rd prize

Group 14 Team – Alternative Map Project: Offering inclusive and equal digital banking solutions for everyone The project aims to break down barriers in banking with options such as Face ID and Touch ID protection, voice payments and a voice device.
