Ukrainian messenger Dober is created on the basis of end-to-end encryption – a secure method of data transmission, in which only direct users can access messages.
The developer of the initiative, Dmytro Yashenkin, talked about this during the presentation of the application on Ukrinform.
“In the messenger, by definition, end-to-end encryption of information is used. This guarantees complete confidentiality of communication and data transfer. After all, only the user and his addressee can see each other’s messages. Metaphorically speaking, each chat is in a separate information technology “container, completely isolated from the outside world “All data is stored only in encrypted form,” the developer of the messenger noted.
He stressed that if a server or smartphone is physically compromised, none of the information transmitted by them can fall into the hands of others, because the information is “lost” immediately after transmission.
Yashenkin explained that asymmetric encryption algorithms based on elliptic curves were used in the development of the application. At the same time, the sizes of software keys that protect all information exceed all modern values and, in some cases, the recommendations of the American National Security Agency (NSA), which examines the protection of information systems and computer networks. US government.
“Such a technological approach is a guarantee that all user data is safe,” the developer said.
When using asymmetric encryption algorithms, each message has its own 512-bit key. That is, each key is encrypted with a different public key. And they can only decrypt the data.
Yashenkin said that an effective cryptographic protection system is our technological know-how in the Dober precursor.
According to him, even if the user loses his phone, another person will not be able to access the messenger to view the history of the owner’s actions, since such data is not stored in the application’s own memory.
In addition, a limited number of pin code attempts and a special function are used, aimed at slowing down processes that can be used to hack the messenger.
“The digital signature of the author of the message is protection. It can be verified using its public key. This way, information protection is ensured even during the authentication phase,” summarized the startup developer.
As reported by Ukrinform, the first secure Ukrainian messenger Dober, developed taking into account the current situation in cyberspace, was introduced in Ukraine. The application allows you to prevent the transfer of the user’s personal data to third parties, provides anonymous registration and, if desired, the complete deletion of information about the user from the system.
