The Windows 11 2022 Update wouldn’t be much of an update (note the irony) without those bugs that have been with us since the release of Windows 10.

The Windows 11 2022 Update wouldn’t be much of an update (note the irony) without those bugs that have been with us since the release of Windows 10. With each release, Microsoft fixes many of those bugs, but delivers more on a haphazardly repeating cycle with no control.

The release of the Windows 11 2022 Update (also known as Windows 11 22H2) did not go smoothly, and some bugs forced Microsoft to block some users from installing it. One of them is fat and it affects printer connection when using Microsoft IPP Class Driver or Universal Print Class Driver in this version of the system.

Microsoft has implemented a workaround that will at least allow affected computers to update to the latest version, which will show up in Windows Update within 48 hours after the fix, or can be forced by searching.

Another option is to simply uninstall the problematic printer, update to Windows 11 2022 Update, and then reinstall the printer. Microsoft informs about it “They are working on a final solution and estimate that update protection will be removed in mid-November”.

It’s not the only bug in the version. Another reported is prevents safe removal of hardware when the task manager is used. We use the eject function (for example) when we want to safely remove an external USB drive from the computer.

It’s not listed as an official bug in the official documentation yet, but if it happens to you, you already know. Until this is fixed, you’ll need to close the task manager first to use this feature, which many regular users don’t know about and shouldn’t use, as it serves to reduce data loss and damage to the USB flash drive itself.

And patience. These errors come as an integral part of Windows and there seems to be no way to get rid of them. If you absolutely need your gear and can’t afford any type of error, you know: hold off on updates until you check its absolute stability.
