So, according to a user of the Reddit forum under the pseudonym NoDuelsPolicy, the power adapter for the Asus GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card melted during a session in Black Desert. “Suddenly the screen went black and all the fans started spinning 100%. I turned off the computer and after examining it, I realized that the power adapter was damaged”NoDuels Policy specified.
A few other players have reported similar cases of meltdown in the 16-pin power connector area.
Nvidia launched an investigation, in which Asus and Gigabyte also participated. For now, owners of flagship GeForce RTX 4090 video cards are advised not to twist the cable to connect additional power at a distance of less than 35 mm from the socket.
