In China, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 12, a new version of one of the best-selling mid-range series in the smartphone market.

The series will be sold in four versionsRedmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+ and the most advanced version “Discovery Edition”, which stands out above the others in particular with a 210-watt fast charging system that fully charges the battery in just nine minutes.

The screen is common across the range, although the base model drops some of its features, such as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. Yippee 6.67 inch OLED with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a native resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. Its brightness is 500 nits and the contrast ratio is 5,000,000:1.

The camera system of the two main models includes a camera with a triple sensor, where the Samsung HPX (1/1.4″, f/1.65, 7P) stands out. 200 megapixels, additionally with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro. The front, located in the hole in the screen, has 16 MP.

As for its engine, the base model uses Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, while the rest progress through a more powerful SoC, the all-new Dimensity 1080 from MediaTek. The RAM is of the LPDDR4x type, while the storage uses UFS 2.2 in varying amounts depending on the version from 4 to 12 GB of RAM and from 128 to 256 GB.

They have stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack. Dual SIM + Dual 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and side fingerprint reader. The basic model again reduces performance and looks for a better price, staying with Wi-Fi 5. In batteries, the first three models use 5,000 MHz, while the Discovery remains at 4,300 mAh, but it is the one that consolidates the system mentioned 210W HyperCharge able to fully recharge the terminal in 9 minutes.

Redmi Note 12, versions and prices

Xiaomi distributes the v series four versions listed and in variations according to your RAM and storage:

• Redmi Note 12 5G: from RMB 1,199 (165 dollars) with 4GB + 128GB. You can equip up to 8 GB + 256 GB.
• Redmi Note 12 Pro: Starts at RMB 1,699 ($234) with 6GB + 128GB. You can equip up to 12 GB + 256 GB.
• Redmi Note 12 Pro+: From RMB 2,199 ($303) with 8GB + 256GB. You can equip up to 12 GB + 256 GB.
• Redmi Redmi Note 12 DISCOVERY EDITION will cost RMB 2,399 (331 dollars).

All models pre-install a layer above the user interface MIUI 13 based on Android 12. They will be available in different colors in the month of November on all Xiaomi channels in China. It is certain that they will make their way to the international market soon as it is one of the company’s best-selling series and a mid-range smartphone.
