Turkish companies STM and Roketsan have developed a new Alpagut barrage munition that can be used in drones, including Bayraktar.

Basically, Alpagut is a smart kamikaze drone. It can be launched from Aksungur, SIHA, Bayraktar Akıncı and Bayraktar TB2 (or TB3) UAVs.

The ammunition is mounted under the wing instead of the rocket. After being thrown, it spreads its wings and heads towards the target. The drone is designed to destroy land and sea radar equipment, communication equipment, electronic warfare equipment, light armored vehicles, ammunition depots, forts and enemy manpower.

Alpagut’s maximum launch range is 60 km. The ammunition carries a warhead weighing up to 11 kg and can move to a height of 3.5 km. After finding a target, it can follow it and fly in a circle at an altitude of 300-1500 meters. The maximum flight time is approximately 60 minutes.
