Leleka-100 unmanned aerial vehicles are used to tune the high-precision M982 Excalibur artillery shells of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the “Return Alive” charity, which received the video from the military.

Precision weapons need aerial guidance and control – this is provided by drones developed by Ukraine. In the video, M982 Excalibur shells hit the positions of Russian troops in a strip of forest.

“This is how the high-precision Excalibur projectile, delivered by Western partners to the Ukrainian defenders, works” – says charity.

The team “Return Alive” signed a contract with 25 complexes of such drones in May of this year. Two of them are already working on the front with trained operators.

The multifunctional unmanned aerial vehicle “Stork-100” was created by the Ukrainian company DeViRo. The complex is designed to operate in a complex radio-electronic environment in the mode of deliberately installing radio interference or blocking satellite navigation systems.

The American 155 mm guided active-reactive projectile M982 Excalibur was developed by Raytheon Missile Systems and BAE Systems Bofors.

The range of the bullet is 40 kilometers, and the error is only a few meters. The firing range of the Excalibur, made of M777 with a barrel length of 39 caliber, was proven to be 36 kilometers. If you use the CAESAR with a 52-caliber barrel, the distance will increase to 46 kilometers. And together with the German PzH 2000, the Excalibur projectile can hit a target at a distance of 48 km.

When firing this projectile, the barrel of the howitzer is directed upwards almost vertically to bring the projectile to the maximum possible height at which it will fly to the target.
