Halloween is literally around the corner and since all the media are recommending games, series, movies and more, we will do the same, but with a little twist so that it is not a typical article that you have already read there. In fact, we’re going to do the opposite: instead of recommending content you can find on Netflix, Prime Video, et al… in which case, the best thing to do is check out VOD news which we are posting this Saturday because most of the content is interesting and appropriate for the dateā¦
The headline says it all, right? And if you’re thinking that by including free content that you can legally consume, it’s not even going to come close to what you have on Netflix, Prime Video et al… You’re partially right, of course. With nuances, so that if it turns out that you are caught without a penny in your pocket, then you are not even a pirate, or you simply want to enter a land less traveled, although not one with less tradition … you are interested in the same or you like what we bring next.
This article also serves as a reminder of four sites where you can find free movies and series that are worth having on hand… because they cost nothing!
Warning: the quality of the trailers, if there are any, some in English, do not deliver, but the films look good and are all in Spanish.
It’s been almost three years since Plex was announced streaming without movies and series and since then it has greatly improved its catalog and also improved the model with live TV. The menu in Spanish is still rare, but there is a little bit of everything and it is constantly renewed. You need a Plex account to use it.
If you’re a fan of the genre, you’ve seen it a thousand times, but you won’t have a problem watching it again. We are talking about a living cemetery, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, the translation of the title of which is not accurate, but more faithful to the meaning of the work. If you haven’t seen it, you’re too late. On Plex, you have the original and the forgettable sequel… but because it’s free:
A pandemic, you said? Cabin Fever It will give you a different look, more scary and carrion. The film isn’t anything to write home about, nor does much stand as classics of any level, things being what they are, but spending time is worthwhile and even more so when it comes to filling the gap with material suitable for this Term.

The same can be said about Cabin Fever can also be said about Eyes of Evil (See no evil)ā¦and even more so, because objectively it may not be worse, but it is less original. After all, both are similar in a group of young protagonists, brush strokes of gore… but this one moves in the key slasher requetesobada
Runtime is a platform that recently arrived in Spain and has a little bit of everything, from live TV to series and movies, and it’s all free (with ads, of course). Moreover, you don’t need to register to enjoy its content.
One of the movies you can watch on Runtime this Halloween is [rec], a true contemporary classic of Spanish horror cinema that you’ve most likely seen before, but again one that needs to be seen again from time to time. Zombies no less! Oh, and not only do you have the original movie, there’s also a sequel:
Another Spanish movie you can see in Runtime is Romasanta, hunting the beastfrom the same director [rec]. Adapted from the true story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, known in 19th century Galicia as “El Hombre Lobo de Allariz”. A terrifying village story turned into a legend.
Night of the Living Dead is actually George A. Romero’s first feature film, and the first movie about the living dead, or zombies as we know them now… And yes, you can find it in many other places, like Youtube. But if you want to see it in Spanish and in minimal qualityā¦
Content platform for streamingboth on demand and live, free and well established is Pluto TV, which also celebrates Halloween these days and from which we highlight three more films, in this case more classic ones.
Starring the recently deceased Angela Lansbury (He wrote the crime), in the company of wolves is a wonderful fantasy horror story that also includes werewolves, but with real chest hair. A reinterpretation of the classic Red Riding Hood more twisted than it seems at first glance by the director interview with a vampire.
Much further back in time is another classic of the horror genre, from the B-series and with a strong crossover into comedy, to be precise, such as little shop of horrors. Their remakestarring mid-1980s Rick Moranis (Ghost busters) is more memorable, but this original raid is just as good or better, even if it has less media.
Same exercise, different mansion: you have to go back a long way, but much further back in time to find them Nosferatu, undead. The first representation of the vampire to occur in the seventh art, and that, as we have pointed out, Night of the Living Deadyou’ll find it in many places because it’s in the public domain (it celebrated its first centenary this year) in very poor quality… But you’ll see it in luxury on Pluto TV.
And now a series you can watch on the revamped RTVE Play, where everything you find is free, even if it’s littered with rubbish… with occasional exceptions, including much of RTVE’s historical archive, such as…
It was necessary to mention, it also coincided with the launch of the second season of the reboot of the national horror classic, created by Chicho IbƔƱez Serrador, this week on Amazon Prime Video. And don’t be fooled: no matter how old the series is, it’s good, in fact much better than new, although all the time that has passed between them – 30 chapters of which were published in two decades, eye- noticeable in certain ways .
To all this we said the series and it remained in one, but in the same RTVE Play you can see more: stories from the other side, chronicles of evil, returnees⦠Likewise, you will find many other horror movies on other platforms that you may like more. The only thing you have to take into account is that free content has its drawbacks, such as the fact that they throw ads at you – although usually not as abusive as on traditional TV – that a lot of content is not in high definition. . Happy Halloween!
