The Dutch military intelligence service discovered that Russia was trying to obtain high-tech developments for the war against Ukraine through front companies.
This NOS is reported by Ukrinform reports.
“Dutch high-tech companies unknowingly sell their technology to firms set up by Russian military intelligence,” the report says.
The head of the Dutch military intelligence service, Jan Swillens, said that the Russian special services created dozens of front companies in the country, bypassing the sanctions and buying technology and then importing it into Russia.
Therefore, the publication points out that the Dutch high-tech sector unwittingly provides important assets for the Russian military machine.
The Netherlands is home to leading companies in the semiconductor and chip industries, including NXP and ASML.
Law enforcement agencies urge companies to carefully check their customers, so as not to unknowingly cooperate with the Russian Federation.
As reported, law enforcement in the Netherlands detained a 55-year-old man on suspicion of supplying a microchip to Russia to circumvent sanctions. His bank accounts and trading inventory were confiscated.
