A special feature of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023 will be a periscopic telephoto lens for optical image magnification during photo and video recording. 9To5Mac writes about this with reference to TF International Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo.
According to Kuo, in the 2023 models, Apple aims to achieve even more differentiation between the base iPhone, Pro and Pro Max. The insider claims that when it comes to the older device, Apple will highlight the device’s photographic features.
However, analyst TF International Securities noted that contrary to early rumors, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will not have an 8P class camera. That is, instead of the previously promised eight lenses, the main photo modules of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will most likely continue to use seven optical elements.
While Kuo is wrong, one can hope that the new iPhones will take sharper pictures than their predecessors. 9To5Mac writes that the additional lens is intended to reduce glare and distortion at the edges of the frame.
Kuo also reiterated that in 2023, Apple may rename the older model from Pro Max to Ultra.
