Google has confirmed a new zero-day vulnerability in Chrome and has released an emergency security update that addresses this single, highly rated issue.
For the first time, the vulnerability under the number CVE-2022-3723 became known on October 25 from the reports of Avast researchers. Experts did not disclose details about the vulnerability. This is done so that as many users as possible have time to update before cybercriminals invent new ways to exploit the vulnerability.
As Forbes writes, Google rarely releases such patches that contain only one fix. The fact that the security update was released simultaneously for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android highlights the seriousness of the vulnerability found.
Google says that since the announcement, update 107.0.5304.87 has been released for Mac and Linux users, 107.0.5304.87 or 107.0.5304.88 for Windows, and 107.0.5304.91 for Android. All users will receive the update in the coming days. You can upgrade instantly from Help|About. If an update is available, Chrome will download and install it automatically, then you will need to restart the browser.
