This was reported by the Washington Post with reference to the company’s internal email, Ukrinform reports.
Whoever posts the video can set the cost of viewing from one to five dollars. For users, such a post will be displayed with the logo of the locked video and the signature “view for $”, payment can be made through the Stripe service.
Users who do not pay will not be able to watch the video, but will be able to like or retweet the tweet. Twitter also plans to take a percentage from each payment.
It is stated that the new service may be available in a week or two.
At the same time, the email does not specify what type of videos authors can post. However, this information raises concerns among experts that users may post copyrighted content or use the feature to deceive others.
As reported, on Thursday, October 27, Elon Musk finalized a deal to acquire the Twitter company for $44 billion. He dissolved the board of directors soon after purchasing Twitter and consolidated his control over the company. Musk has also instructed Twitter engineers to start working on a Vine reboot by the end of this year to prepare for the launch of the platform.
