Samsung is preparing to bet big on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The manufacturer is eyeing the foldable smartphone market and expects growth of 80% per year, until 2025. The Z Fold 5 should have more powerful cameras, a built-in S-Pen port, and be a lighter device. Through the changes, Samsung hopes to further popularize the segment, which is gradually growing.

According to TheElec, sources close to the development of the company’s foldable devices have yet to officially confirm the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, with projected expectations of 80 percent growth in the segment, Samsung will be preparing to deliver news on line.

Samsung bets on the foldable segment

Last week, the Korean manufacturer released third-quarter financial results and noted the good performance of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The Z Fold 4 phone was originally planned to have a dedicated slot for the S Pen, but the plans were scrapped during development. Now Samsung is looking for launch of a new generation of Z Fold with S Pen input.

Therefore, building a smartphone with additional components increases the weight of the product. Therefore, the plans are also to create a lighter cell phone while increasing battery capacity. This is clear, while these are the plans of the companybut designing a smartphone with more components and lighter is not easy.

The fourth generation Z Fold brought a triple set of 50 + 10 + 12 MP rear cameras, which is a significant improvement over the third generation with a 12 + 12 + 12 MP set. The Z Fold 4 comes with a solid set of cameras, but given Samsung’s desire to increase user usage of foldable smartphones, the company’s plans could include a more powerful set of rear cameras.

Rumors point to a Galaxy S23 announcement in January 2023, if the information is correct and the company plans to push its releases, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 announcement could be closer than we think.
