Smart home accessory maker Nanoleaf announced today that it will launch new products compatible with Matter, the smart home standard that Apple started to support with the launch of iOS 16.1. Matter is designed to provide interoperability between smart home devices from different manufacturers.
Nanoleaf is launching the Matter-equipped A19, GU10 and BR30 bulbs, as well as the Lightstrip and all products in the company’s Essentials line. The bulbs and light strip offer more than 16 million color options, along with customizable whites with color temperatures ranging from 2700 to 6500K.
The new Essentials units can produce color-changing light scenes that can be customized with the Nanoleaf app. Thanks to Matter integration, Essentials products are compatible with HomeKit and other smart home platforms such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Matter-compatible Essentials and Lightstrips smart bulbs will launch in early 2023 priced between $20 and $100. Nanoleaf plans to present additional Matter-compatible products at CES in January.
