The Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX were the big stars of AMD’s event yesterday, no doubt about that, but the Sunnyvale giant had two aces up its sleeve and didn’t hesitate to use them to generate more anticipation. : FSR 3 and HYPER-X technology.
We already gave you the first batch of information about FSR 3 in June of the same year and We tell you that this new technology:
Everything we tell you was fulfilled. During the Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX presentation, AMD announced FSR 3, a new generation of its well-known upscaling and image reconstruction technology that they will be supported by new specialized AI cores which Sunnyvale introduced with the RDNA3 architecture.
Unfortunately, the information we have is still quite scarce, but we know that the FSR 3 technology can twice the performance compared to FSR 2 and that it will be compatible with something called “Fluid frame technology”. AMD hasn’t specified anything beyond what has been said, only that it will arrive next year, although my intuition is that it could be GPU-powered and AI-powered image generation technology, meaning it would be AMD is equivalent to frame rate offers NVIDIA DLSS 3. If confirmed, it would seem like a success on AMD’s part.
I’ll be on the lookout to provide you with more information as it emerges, but I assume that in addition to the performance improvements we’ve hinted at, we can also expect scaling and better image reconstruction with FSR 3, thanks to AI support. it looks so good and everything indicates that this technology will indeed be a real rival to NVIDIA’s DLSS.
On the other hand, we also have AMD HYPER-X technology. AMD hasn’t given much explanation, so we have a lot of questions about exactly how this will work. At the moment I can only tell you that it will arrive in the first half of 2023 and that it will theoretically allow us improve performance and latency in games with a simple click. It can be a direct rival to the combination of NVIDIA Reflex and NVIDIA DLSS.
Using this technology, it is possible to improve the performance of Dying Light 2 by 85%Y latency is only reduced by a third, as we can see in the attached image. Good job AMD, like Sunnyvale put a lot of effort into the Radeon RX 7000 going beyond brute force and efficiency and brought to the table an interesting technological leap on all fronts: specialization, intelligent scaling, optimization and ray tracing.
