American entrepreneur Elon Musk’s company, The Boring Company, has begun full-scale testing of the Hyperloop high-speed transportation system project, according to the company’s US account. excitement.
The Hyperloop consists of a wind tunnel and a capsule that can move without air resistance and accelerate to record speeds.
Previously, Virgin Hyperloop company successfully conducted the first passenger tests of the prototype vacuum train capsule that will become a new mode of transportation.
The test was conducted at the DevLoop test site in Nevada, where a half kilometer tunnel was built.
It was noted that the reduced two-seater XP-2 capsule was used by the company’s co-founder Josh Hygel and passenger services quality director Sarah Luchian. The classic version will be designed for 28 passengers.
The speed of the capsule as it passed through the tunnel was 48 meters per second. According to the plans, this mode of transport will be twice as fast as an airplane and several times faster than a high-speed train.
