The Jordanian company Jadara Equipment and Defense Systems is developing a portable anti-aircraft missile complex. The new MANPADS “Hunter” concept was presented at the “SOFEX 2022” defense exhibition. At the exhibition, a representative of the Jordanian company confirmed that the complex is already under development. The brochure listed the technical characteristics, which indicated that the missile has a length of 1.5 m and a caliber of 72 mm. It is stated that the total weight of the anti-aircraft complex will be 16-17 kilograms.

MANPADS “Hunter” will be able to aim at targets at an altitude of 3800 meters using an infrared homing head (IR). Photos used in Jadara’s brochure and poster show a launcher very similar to the MANPADS “FN-6” made in China. MANPADS “FN-6” and “The Hunter” have a similar box in which the battery is installed and a conical cover to cover the main unit of the missile.

An image of the Hunter missile in the brochure showed it to have an unusual pyramidal head like the FN-6, but other promotional photos showed a more traditional domed head. Also, the features provided by Jadara for “The Hunter” are very similar to “FN-6”.

As a reminder, Jadara Equipment and Defense Systems now offers its customers anti-tank weapons. In 2018, the company began production of the Terminator anti-tank missile complex, which is a licensed version of the Ukrainian light anti-tank missile system Korsar from the Luch Design Bureau.

At the same time, the level of localization is quite low, most of the parts for these grenade launchers come to Jordan from Russia. Source
